Ulster County has been declared eligible for FEMA’s Individual Assistance program that will help families recover from the effects of Hurricane Sandy. One of the reasons we pay taxes is so the government has the resources to help Americans in their time of need. And while there are other parts of the area that were hit much harder than we were, this doesn't change the fact that lives have been severely disrupted in our local community as well. If you need help recovering from the storm, be sure to make a note of the phone number above.
Individuals and families may apply online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling (800) 621-3362 .
County Emergency Management Director Arthur Snyder will be meeting with Federal Emergency Management Agency officials on Wednesday about establishing a Disaster Recovery Center that will supply access to the various FEMA services available under the declaration.
